Student Life

Nestled among some of the most beautiful scenery in the United States, Lexington was founded in 1775, and grew to become one of the largest and wealthiest towns west of the Allegheny Mountains by 1820, gaining the nickname “Athens of the West.” Today, the city boasts more than a quarter million people. Steeped in the rich thoroughbred traditions of the bluegrass, Lexington offers residents the chance to see over 50 breeds of horses at the Kentucky Horse Park, try your luck at Keeneland Race Course during a race meet or enjoy a Horse Farm Tour. And Lexington has much more to offer, including world-class restaurants, galleries and shopping, as well as a rich history revealed through historic homes, renowned distilleries and the restored Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill, the largest in the world.

Early Application Recommended Apartments are assigned on a first come, first-serve basis, and students are urged to apply early. Upon completion of the college application, a housing application can be obtained from your Admissions Officer.

Many students residing in the Lexington campus student housing are able to include all, or most, of their rent in their financial aid package. To determine if this is possible, it is critical that application be made early. Your Admissions Officer can provide more information on available housing and what steps need to be taken. Student housing is available only to out of town students under the age of 21.

Out-of-town students may choose to stay in student housing or arrange for their own housing. Admissions staff will provide lists of alternative accommodations near the campus.

The floor plan of each apartment may vary, but is similar to the one shown here.
