Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy Diploma

The objectives of the Medical Assistant Diploma program are to prepare the graduate with the confidence and skills necessary to perform clinically in a physician’s office, handle the administrative duties, assist in patient care, and perform appropriate medical procedures, and obtain quality laboratory specimens in a variety of settings.

Medical Assistants are multi-skilled health professionals specifically educated to work in ambulatory settings performing administrative and clinical duties. The practice of medical assisting directly influences the public’s health and well-being, and requires mastery of a complex body of knowledge and specialized skills requiring both formal education and practical experience that serve as standards for entry into the profession.

The Medical Assistant Diploma program at Spencerian College Lexington Campus is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.CAAHEP.com) upon the recommendation of the Curriculum Review Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants Endowment (CRB-AAMAE), thus allowing graduates to sit for the national certification exam (CMA(AAMA)), as well as certification in phlebotomy.
