Surgical Technology A.A.S.
Objective
The objective of the AAS Surgical Technology program is to utilize learning experiences in the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains to prepare students for entry-level employment positions and then future advancement in today’s surgical technology profession. The associate degree program offers both didactic and clinical training in advanced and future trends in surgical technology. In addition, biomedical sciences, laser surgery, and the impact of technological advances will be addressed. The program stresses the importance of academic knowledge, professional accountability, independent decision- making, and the critical nature of self-assessment.
