Surgical Technology Diploma
What do they do?
The mission of the Surgical
Technology program is to
utilize learning experiences
in the cognitive,
psychomotor, and affective
domains to prepare students
for entry-level employment
positions in today's
surgical technology
profession. Students gain
knowledge and experience
with aseptic technique, as
well as preparation and use
of instruments and supplies
to be used during surgical
procedures. The surgical
technologist performs scrubs
and/or circulating duties,
including passing
instruments and supplies to
the surgical team members,
preparing and positioning
the patient, operating
equipment, assisting the
anesthesiologist, and
keeping accurate records.

Where do they work?
The Surgical Technology
program prepares students
for employment in a variety
of positions in today's
surgical technology
profession.
This program is designed so
that graduates can obtain
entry-level positions in
surgical technology.
